About
The three main areas of studies that the School offers—information technology, information security and electronics—are now getting more and more popular among applicants. The number of study places in these majors increases annually, but at the same time, the passing and average scores are growing, too.
The IT-majors are usually divided into computer science and computing technology, software engineering and applied computer science. Each major has its own advantages and scope of application, which ensures the demand for graduates in the labor market. The range of professions in software development today has grown significantly: now this diversity ranges from systems architects to engineering psychologists. There is a stable need for analysts, designers, user experience specialists and other professionals in the field.
Our School keeps up with the rapid development of the IT field: it is implementing project-based education, joining efforts with companies and other universities. It actively develops students and schoolchildren’s projects, performs interdisciplinary tasks. It also works outside the university with specialists in the field of medicine, engineering and partner companies. It transforms the learning process and tailors it to meet the needs of the student.
Modern education is difficult to imagine without interaction with companies, which is why the School has a number of committed partners: Sberbank, SKB Kontur, Naumen, Yandex, Jetstyle. Their number is constantly increasing. However, our graduates build successful careers in other areas, too. Therefore, an active cooperation has been established with NPO Avtomatiki, ProSoft-Systems, Triton, IRS—companies that specialize in radioelectronics and equipment production.
When looking for employees, companies value specific skills and completed projects, which is why it is necessary to start developing competences and accumulating a portfolio before graduation. Realizing that the current freshman will not enter the labor market soon, the management focuses on projects that relate to the world of the future.
All graduates of the School make a choice between continuing their education to get a Master’s or Doctoral degree, or focus on their career. In both cases, broad prospects and opportunities open up before them in many aspects, from the place of work to the size of the salary.
